The short version
StashGrid has no account and no sign-up. Your grids, savings, milestones and the figures you type into the tools stay on your phone, and we can't see them. We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking, and we don't sell data. The only things that leave your phone are what's needed to unlock StashGrid Pro, download the latest tax figures, and anything you choose to send us.
Who we are
StashGrid is made by Vekto Interactive (“Vekto”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to personal data when you use the StashGrid app. Our website is covered by our main privacy policy.
Vekto is the controller of any personal data described here. Our details are:
- Legal name: Vekto Interactive Ltd
- Company number: 00000000, registered in England and Wales
- Registered address: address
- ICO registration number: ZA000000
- Email: hello@vekto.co.uk
What stays on your phone
Everything you create in StashGrid is stored only on your device and is never sent to us:
- your grids, cells, amounts, deposits, withdrawals and history
- milestones, challenges, badges, streaks and levels
- figures you enter in the money tools, such as your salary, budget, bills, debts and savings accounts
- your settings, theme and reminder times
- widget data, which is shared only between the app and its widgets on your device
Backups: if you export a backup, the file is saved where you choose, for example your phone's storage or a cloud drive you pick. That service's own terms then apply. We never receive the file.
Device backups: your phone's own backup (Google or iCloud) may include StashGrid's data if you've switched that on. That's handled by Google or Apple under their policies.
Fingerprint and face unlock: handled entirely by your phone's operating system. StashGrid only learns whether unlocking succeeded and never has access to your biometric data.
Reminders: daily, payday and bill reminders are scheduled on your phone. We don't run a notification server.
Sharing: share images, such as your Wrapped card, are created on your phone. They only go where you send them.
What leaves your phone
When you buy or restore StashGrid Pro
Payments are taken by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never see your card details. To check and restore your purchase, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives:
- a random app user ID created on your phone, which isn't linked to your name or email
- the store's purchase record and transaction ID
- basic device information: operating system, app version, language, and country worked out from your IP address
When the app checks for updated figures
About once a day, StashGrid downloads the latest tax rates, scheme figures and partner offers from our hosting provider, Supabase. The app sends nothing about you. Like any website, the provider can see your device's IP address when the file is requested. Whether partner offers apply to your country is worked out on your phone, not on our servers.
When you contact us
If you email us or use our support form, we receive your email address, your message and anything you choose to include, such as your device type or app version.
Crash reports
StashGrid doesn't include its own crash reporting. If you've allowed it in your phone's settings, Google or Apple may share anonymous crash and performance reports with us.
We don't collect your contacts, photos, precise location, microphone or bank details. StashGrid never connects to your bank.
How it's used and why
UK data protection law requires a lawful basis for each use of personal data. Ours are:
| What we do | Data used | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Unlock, verify and restore StashGrid Pro | App user ID, purchase records, device information | Contract |
| Keep tax figures, scheme details and offers up to date | IP address (seen by our host) | Legitimate interests: accurate tools without an app update |
| Answer your emails and support requests | Email address, message | Legitimate interests: helping people who use StashGrid |
| Fix bugs from anonymous crash reports | Crash and performance data | Legitimate interests: an app that works properly |
| Keep tax and accounting records of sales | Purchase records | Legal obligation |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we've checked that our interests aren't outweighed by yours. You can object at any time (see Your rights).
Partner offers
In the UK, StashGrid may show offers from savings and banking apps, such as Plum, in the “Where it's kept” tool. Some are referral links: if you sign up, we may earn a reward. They're clearly labelled, and you can hide them in Settings.
Tapping an offer opens the partner's website or app. No data is passed from StashGrid to the partner, apart from the referral link itself, and from then on the partner's own privacy policy applies. We don't receive your personal details from partners. If a partner's referral scheme tells us anything, it's only whether a referral qualified for a reward.
International transfers
RevenueCat is based in the United States. Where data is transferred outside the UK, we make sure it's protected by UK adequacy regulations (including the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, where the provider is certified) or by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
How long it's kept
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Grids, savings and tool figures | On your phone until you delete them, reset the app or uninstall it. We never hold a copy. |
| Purchase records (RevenueCat and the stores) | As long as needed to provide Pro, and up to 6 years for UK tax and accounting rules. |
| Hosting logs (IP addresses) | Up to 30 days, as set by our providers. |
| Emails and support messages | Up to 2 years after our last contact. |
Your rights
You have the right to:
- get a copy of your personal data
- have inaccurate data corrected
- have your data deleted
- restrict how we use your data
- object to uses based on legitimate interests
- receive your data in a portable format
Because your grids and tool figures never reach us, you control them directly in the app. For anything we or RevenueCat hold, email hello@vekto.co.uk. Include your Google Play or App Store order number so we can find your purchase record. It's free, and we'll reply within one month. For complex requests we can extend this by up to two more months, and we'll tell you if we do.
Deleting your data
- Everything on your phone: go to Settings, then Reset All Data, or uninstall StashGrid. Exported backup files are yours to delete wherever you saved them.
- Purchase records: email us your order number. Some records must be kept for tax purposes, but we'll delete everything else.
- Emails: ask us and we'll delete our correspondence with you.
Children
StashGrid is designed for adults managing their own money and isn't aimed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you think a child has sent us their data, email us and we'll delete it.
Keeping it safe
All connections the app makes are encrypted. Your on-device data is protected by your phone's own security, and you can add fingerprint or face unlock in Settings. Only people who need access to run StashGrid can reach the small amount of data we handle. If a breach affecting your data happens, we'll tell you and the ICO where the law requires it.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please email hello@vekto.co.uk first. We'll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and aim to resolve it as quickly as we can.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
We'll update this page when our practices change and show the new date at the top. If a change significantly affects how your data is used, we'll also tell you in the app.
